CATCH ME healthcare apps introduced at ESC 2017

The two healthcare apps developed by the CATCH ME consortium to improve treatment of atrial fibrillation (AF) were introduced at the ESC Congress 2017 in Barcelona.

All three presentations of the session "CATCH ME - Management of patients with atrial fibrillation" can be found at the ESC Congress 365 website:

  •     - Apps in health care and presentation of the Afib Catch me App of the ESC - Dipak Kotecha (Birmingham, Great Britain)
  •     - Patient App My AF - Larissa Fabritz (Birmingham, Great Britain)
  •     - Demonstration of the practical use of the App - Eduard Guasch (Barcelona, Spain)


Positive feedback on the apps was received after the session both from health care providers as well as representatives of patient organizations.

In time for the conference the publication
"European Society of Cardiology (ESC) smartphone and tablet applications for patients with atrial fibrillation and their healthcare providers"
by Kotecha D, Chua W, Fabritz L, Hendriks J, Casadei B, Schotten U, Vardas P, Heidbuchel H, Dean V and Kirchhof P
was accepted by the journal EP Europace and will be published in a forthcoming issue.
